Mountain Therapy

Reconnect with yourself through nature

The Mountain Therapy Philosophy

Nature as Co-Therapist

The wilderness doesn't judge or rush. It holds space for whatever needs to emerge, offering lessons in patience, resilience, and interconnectedness that no indoor therapy room can replicate.

Challenge as Catalyst

Growth happens at the edge of comfort. Through carefully selected adventures—whether it's paddling the water or simply sitting with the vastness—we create opportunities for meaningful breakthrough.

Your Pace, Your Path

There's no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I meet you exactly where you are, honoring your unique story, strengths, and needs as we chart a course together.

Meet the Therapist

Amy Mountain Ference, MS, LPC, CCAT

A stint as a backpacking guide in the early 2000s convinced me that the path to healing is most powerful when taken through transformative outdoor experiences that challenge, inspire, and renew. I have taken that experience into my work as the Adventure Therapy Coordinator at the University of Arkansas, and I'm passionate about translating that immersive nature experience into weekly sessions with my clients.

As a Gestalt therapist who practices somatically, I mindfully use nature as my co-therapist, drawing on our ancient connection with the Earth to help quiet the chatter of a modern society and get more fully in touch with our relationship to self and to our environment.

Whether you're navigating life transitions, processing trauma, or simply seeking a deeper connection with yourself, I'm here to walk alongside you on that journey.

Take the First Step
